The wait.

So, we've taken the plunge, decisions have been made, looks have been exchanged and we're in for the tandem. To be fair, this is something we have been planning for sometime. This all started with the first foray into N+1 cycling around 2 years ago when I refurbished an old Claud Butler Majestic Two for L'Eroica festival. A great time had by us both and the enthusiasm we both had for tandeming hasn't cooled-off since. It was a shame to move on from 'Old Claud' but to be fair, it was slightly too small for us and offered painstakingly slow puncture repairs and a fair bit of frame flex!

This morning we had a fantastic fitting courtesy of Sarah at Thorn Cycles in Bridgwater, Somerset https://www.thorncycles.co.uk/ . I had been interested in their Twin Raven frames for sometime and it was nice to see some hardware up close.

The first thing that struck me was the robust-look to their bikes, something that they have a reputation for. Not surprisingly, the ride was really confidence-inspiring and much more comfortable for the both of us than before (sorry Claud!).

So, cutting to the short of it, we're on the wait for our new build. Due to be with us before the end of the week, and so in the meantime we can start to plan out the first few outings around Oxford!

More to follow in due course. Broadsword out.
