There Will Be Wind

Well, rain last weekend and blustery winds today, all 40 mph gusts of it! No rain and such but this was a real test at times, the whole bike going on quite a sideways tilt as the strong westerly blew in over the Cotswolds. We decided to head west first, taking the wind head on for some 10 miles heading towards Eynsham then a lovely road up through South Leigh towards Witney. Back past the scene of my fall from 3 years ago where I broke my leg, we headed up via Stonesfield and came into Woodstock from the north, stopping at the Barefoot cafe for a great slab of something tasty http://www.barefootoxford.co.uk/.

From there we decided to keep it a short run in, now helped greatly by a strong tailwind, through Bletchingdon and round a huge fallen tree in Hampton Poyle - at one point having to straddle a downed power cable!

Impressed with the newest Carradice aquisition - the Keswick handlebar bag. It sits very securely on the front of the bike with the KickFlix adjuster, and this makes taking the bag on and off a real doddle.

A break for next weekend, but happy with our increase the miles so far and also the fact that we are both now using clipless pedals making it so much more comfortable.
